Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a Community Interest Company (CIC)?

A CIC is a special type of social enterprise designed for people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, rather than purely for private profit. At TTAA, this means our "business" is the wellbeing of the community.

How is TTAA different from a standard charity?

While we share many goals with charities, being a CIC allows us to be more agile and entrepreneurial. We focus on sustainable social enterprise models, ensuring we aren't just reliant on grants, but can also create our own revenue streams to reinvest back into the community.

Where does my donation or sponsorship go?

Because of our Asset Lock, all funds are legally protected. They are used to cover the costs of housing advocacy, employment training kits, and the essential infrastructure required to keep our support services running 24/7.

Who can access TTAA services?

We support individuals across England who are experiencing homelessness or facing long-term unemployment. We have an "Open Door" philosophy—if you are willing to work toward a better future, we are here to provide the truth and the tools to get you there.

How can a business benefit from partnering with a CIC?

Beyond the social impact, businesses can often use their contributions to fulfill Social Value requirements for government tenders and improve their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) profiles.

For Partners & Donors (Focus on Transparency)

Q: Can I see how my money is being spent?

A: Absolutely. Transparency is in our name. As a CIC, we file an annual CIC34 report with the UK Government, which is a public document detailing our activities and how we’ve served the community. We also provide our Silver and Gold partners with bespoke impact reports.

Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?

A: While CICs are not charities, businesses can often deduct sponsorship payments as a legitimate business expense. We recommend speaking with your accountant to see how your support of TTAA can be optimized for your tax position.

Q: What is the "Asset Lock" exactly?

A: It is a legal promise. It ensures that the assets of TTAA (including land, buildings, and cash reserves) can only be used for the community's benefit. If the company were ever to close, all remaining assets must be transferred to another "asset-locked" body, like a charity or another CIC, and not to individuals.

For Service Users (Focus on Hope & Dignity)

Q: Do I need a permanent address to get help from TTAA?

A: No. In fact, helping you secure a stable foundation—whether that is a temporary shelter or a permanent home—is one of our primary goals. We help bridge the gap for those who feel "locked out" of the system due to a lack of paperwork or address.

Q: I’ve been out of work for a long time. Can you really help me?

A: The "Truth" is that the longer you are out of work, the harder it feels to go back. We specialize in "re-entry." We don't just give you a job lead; we help with the psychological and practical steps—from building confidence to updating your skills for the 2026 job market.

Q: What if I have a criminal record or complex history?

A: We believe the truth of your past shouldn't dictate the truth of your future. We work with inclusive employers who offer "second chance" employment. If you are committed to change, we are committed to supporting you.

For Volunteers & The Public

Q: How can I help if I don't have money to donate?

A: Time is just as valuable as money. We look for "Skill-Based Volunteers"—people who can help our members with mock interviews, tech skills, or even just providing a friendly ear. Visit our "Get Involved" page to see current volunteer openings.

Q: Do you operate only in London?

A: While we have core hubs, our mission is to provide support across England. Our digital resources and "Work-Ready" remote workshops are available to anyone with an internet connection, regardless of where they are in the country.
